Hydrophilic Catheters

Hydrophilic coated catheters have a special coating which reacts with water to create a well lubricated surface on the catheter.  Hydrophilic coating is recommended for those who experience pain, pressure or discomfort using catheters.

Clinical studies have documented that hydrophilic-coated catheters significantly reduce the incidence of urinary tract infections, as well as urethral damage and trauma, and withdrawal friction.  Additionally, clinical studies have shown that hydrophilic catheters have increased user preference and patient satisfaction. 

Rochester HYDROPHILIC PERSONAL CATHETER®

Packaged with its own sterile water packet, the all-silicone Hydrophilic Personal Catheter provides virtually friction-free insertion and removal. Its innovative packaging makes it quick and easy to prep while maintaining sterility in any setting.

The Hydrophilic Personal Catheter is available in a sterile, single unit package as well as in a closed system that offers touch-free catheterization and an integral urine collection bag.

 

Astra Tech Lo Fric Primo Catheters

The LoFric features Urotonic Surface Technology. 

The slippery and pliable Lofric ® catheter included with the Lofric ® Primo minimizes friction during insertion and withdrawal, increasing the ease and comfort of catheterization. This is because Astra Tech’s Urotonic Surface Technology makes the surface isotonic to urine, so that the water on the surface remain there during the entire catheterization process, making the LoFric just as slippery coming out as it is going in.

The integrated water pouch is activated with a light press.  The Lofric ® Primo has a special handling strip that allows a firm grip without having to actually touch the catheter, reducing the risk of bacterial contamination and infection.

Cure Catheters™ are DEHP and latex free. These sterile, single use catheters feature polished eyelets, tip options, and funnel ends for males and females. Cure Catheters are available by the box (30 units/box) and by the case (10 boxes/case).   Cure Catheters come in the following sizes.  Male 16” Catheters: sizes 8 Fr, 10Fr, 12 Fr, 14 Fr and 16 Fr.  Female 6” Catheters: sizes 8 Fr, 10Fr, 12 Fr, and 14 Fr.  Additionally, Cure donates 10% of its proceeds to medical research for a cure to spinal cord injuries and central nervous system disorders.

 

Rusch FloCath

The Rusch FloCath is a hydrophilic coated catheter that is designed to provide the lowest possible friction for quick and easy insertion and withdrawal.  The Rusch FloCath allows water to bind to the catheter creating a slippery, low friction surface that is maintained during insertion and withdrawal.   Submerge hydrophilic catheter in water for 30 seconds to activate hydrophilic coating.
